Services and products
GoDaddy is not only famous for being a titan in the domain seller industry, but they are also known for their variety of hosting, online marketing, protection, and security plans.
Let’s go through their hosting plans and find out more.

Shared web hosting.

Shared web hosting is one of the most preferred hosting plans for beginners or small projects since you have to share your server with other websites.
The prices start at $5.99 for the economic plan for only one website and come with 100GB of storage, 10 databases, and a free domain for the first purchase term only.
Other than that, there are three more plans, the deluxe, the ultimate (recommended for WordPress), and the maximum one that offers unlimited storage and websites and better performance.
The ultimate plan offers a free SSL certificate for the first year only( on renewal it costs about $99.99/year) and only the maximum plan provides unlimited SSL for free.
There are better deals of shared hosting services with the same value of money and a lot more features.

VPS(Virtual Private Server).

This type of plan is adaptable for medium sites that need a better server performance. There is a variety of plans, depending on the RAM, storage and the cores included.
The cheapest plan includes 1 GB RAM, 1 CPU Core, 20 GB NVMe SSD Storage, and no control panel(Linux only) for $4.99/month(annual or multiyear purchase).

Dedicated hosting.

The dedicated hosting is perfect if you are not happy with the shared or VPS hosting performance, with this hosting plan the server is all yours.
That also means that it will surely cost you more than the other two hosting plans. The prices vary from $129.99/month up to $400 per month. This service is offered for both Windows and Linux.

WordPress hosting.

The WordPress hosting service comes with the pre-installed WordPress and the prices start at $8.99/mo (first terms only), free SSL and domain for the first year. Website backup protection with 1 click,
30 GB storage. Features like unlimited storage or visitors are security features that are provided only for the ultimate and e-commerce plan.

Detailed reviews

Prices: There are cheaper hosting providers out there that offer even more than GoDaddy for almost all of their hosting plans.
The SSL certificate is not included in most of the plans and depending on your needs, you might need to buy add-ons, so the plans get more expensive.

Guarantee: The refund is provided during the first 30 days for the annual plans, meanwhile, for other plans(less than a year) you have to cancel within 48 hours of the date of the transaction.
The refund period is different for customers outside the USA.

Space limit: The webspace is limited for the economy plan (100 GB) and unlimited for all the other plans.

Ease of use & Backup: The interface is user-friendly, it will be easy and intuitive for beginners. Be careful because they try to sell extra addons at checkout, so if you don’t need any of them, don’t forget to uncheck.
Free backup is included.

Support: You get 24/7 web chat and telephone support. There are also documentation and guides to help, but overall the customer service is pretty decent.

Emails: GoDaddy offers a generous amount of emails for its plans, 100 for the economy plan, 500 accounts for the Deluxe plan, up to unlimited emails for the Ultimate, Maximum, and the other plans.

Speed & performance: Their speed is not too far from other popular hosting providers, even though it’s not the best and unfortunately, it does not offer CDNs to cache your sites.
The uptime is 99.90% which is not a likable result (the aim is 99.95% or higher).

Bandwidth: The bandwidth is unmetered for all the plans.

Server location: GoDaddy servers are located in the USA, Europe, and Asia, which is amazing since better hosting providers do not have servers located outside the US yet.

Security options: You get free SSL certificate, Free backup with one click and that’s nice. By default they offer basic DDoS mitigation, so it means you can enable “Emergency DDos Protection” when you are under heavy and unexpected requests.

Databases: The databases are unlimited only for the Ultimate and Maximum plans.

Software and applications: The control panel is easy to use and you can download from the most used applications like WordPress or Joomla.

Site migration: Site migration is another feature that they do not offer for free. It will cost you around $99.99 per website and it will take up to 10 business days.

Conclusions:
GoDaddy has made some serious progress since the controversy days a few years ago, and the changes are visible.
There are some positive things to mention like their user-friendly interface; the Windows-based hosting, besides Linux; the generosity with the bandwidth, storage, and emails, or the site speed.
But there are lots of downsides to keep in mind. The slow part and priced site migration, and other hidden and unclear pieces of information can be a deal-breaker even for beginners.
They offer good services for small projects, but you might face some issues with larger ones. The choice is yours!
